Shift Change’s Gender Inclusive Leadership Course Manitoba Launch

YWCA Halifax Shift Change is bringing their Gender Inclusive Leadership Course to Manitoba!

Designed for male leaders in the skilled trades, the Gender Inclusive Leadership Course (GILC) explores how they can build inclusive, diverse, and accessible workplaces where everyone feels safe.

The course is a 3-hour/per week six-week-long program and discusses concepts like communication, gender identity, gender-based violence, leadership, and more.

In Halifax and Cape Breton, Steve Law has facilitated this course for Shift Change, with support from the Construction Association of Nova Scotia. Steve is facilitating the Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC) free program with the YMCA-West Portage Branch in a hybrid format, which started on May 10th, 2024, and ends on June 14th, 2024.

To celebrate the beginning of this program, Lynda Ori of MCSC’s BuildHERS initiative will interview Law, Shift Change Lead Tracy Boyer, and Jillian Schofield and Mark Brzuskiewicz of Bird Construction about its initiatives and why the program is important.

The interview took place on May 30th at 1:30 pm CST (3:30 pm AST) and the reply can be watched at the following links below:
