TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: NSCSC Insulator Pre-Employment Program

Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council’s Insulator Pre-Employment Program. The 10-week twelve-person program, starting on June 29th, 2026 and ending on September 4th, 2026 is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Nova Scotia and have a high school diploma or a GED.

What the Program Includes

  • An intro to the insulator trade

  • Industry relevant safety training (WHMIS, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, First Aid, Confined Spaces, Asbestos Awareness, Ladder Safety)

  • In-class theory and hands-on training activities

  • Math, effective communication & job-readiness training

  • 2 weeks of monitored work placement with a local employer

Who Can Apply

  • Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.

  • Open to residents of Nova Scotia with a focus on attracting individuals from equity deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers and Women.  

  • There are also supports for veterans, reservists, senior cadets and family members

  • Successful applicants must obtain their Controlled Goods and Reliability Status.
