TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: NSCSC Introduction to Construction Craft Worker
Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council’s Introduction to Construction Craft Worker Program. The 14-week twelve-person program, starting on July 6th, 2026 and ending on October 9th, 2026 is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Nova Scotia and have a high school diploma or a GED.

What the Program Includes
An intro to the construction craft worker trade
Industry relevant safety training (WHMIS, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift, First Aid, Confined Spaces, Asbestos Awareness, Ladder Safety)
In-class theory and hands-on training activities in formwork and concrete tasks
Trades math & job-readiness training
4 weeks of monitored work placement with a local employer
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.
Open to residents of Nova Scotia with a focus on attracting individuals from equity deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers and Women.
