TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council Introduction to Boilermaker Program
Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council’s Introduction to Boilermaker Program. The nine-week, 10-person program, starting on July 6th, 2026 and ending on September 4th, 2026, is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Nova Scotia.

What the Program Includes
Introduction to the Boilermaker trade
Industry-related training (WHMIS, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, etc)
In class theory and hands-on training in fabrication, assembly, and welding heavy metal products
Trades math and job readiness workshops
Who Can Apply
Open to residents of Nova Scotia, with a focus on attracting individuals from equity-deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers, and Women.
Individuals must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.
There are also supports for veterans, reservists, senior cadets and family members.
Participants Must Have
A valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation
An understanding that out of province travel will be necessary for employment in this trade
*A working knowledge of welding is an asset
