TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council Introduction to Boilermaker Program

Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council’s Introduction to Boilermaker Program. The nine-week, 10-person program, starting on July 6th, 2026 and ending on September 4th, 2026, is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Nova Scotia.

What the Program Includes

  • Introduction to the Boilermaker trade

  • Industry-related training (WHMIS, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, etc)

  • In class theory and hands-on training in fabrication, assembly, and welding heavy metal products

  • Trades math and job readiness workshops

Who Can Apply

  • Open to residents of Nova Scotia, with a focus on attracting individuals from equity-deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers, and Women.

  • Individuals must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.

  • There are also supports for veterans, reservists, senior cadets and family members.

Participants Must Have

  • A valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation

  • An understanding that out of province travel will be necessary for employment in this trade   

  • *A working knowledge of welding is an asset
