NSCSC Fundamentals of Earthmoving Program
Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council’s Fundamentals of Earthmoving Program. The 8-week eight person program, starting on July 29th and ending on September 20th, is open to all Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents with a grade 10 education, high school diploma or a GED.
What the Program Includes
An intro to the heavy equipment trade.
Industry relevant safety training (WHMIS, Basic First Aid training).
In-class theory and hands-on training activities with industry equipment.
Additional training in Telehandler and Forklift operation.
Trades Math, Skills for Success, and Job Readiness workshops.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.
Open to residents of Nova Scotia with a focus on attracting individuals from equity deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers and Women.
Additional prerequisites for the program include completion of grade 10 (minimum), copy of transcripts, and resume.
Applicants must also possess valid drivers license and have access to reliable transportation.
Applicants to this program may also qualify for financial support. Please discuss at the time of application.
