TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: NSCSC and Construction Industry Supports (CIS) Program: Introduction to Sheet Metal
Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council and Construction Industry Supports (CIS) Program’s Introduction to Sheet Metal. The 13-week, 12-person program, starting on May 11th 2026 and ending on August 7th 2026, is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Nova Scotia.

What the Program Includes
Introduction to the Sheet Metal trade
Industry-related training (WHMIS Fall Protection Etc).
Trades Math and Job Readiness Workshops
In class theory and hands-on training in fabrication and installation of sheet metal products.
2 weeks of monitored work placement with a local employer.
Who Can Apply
Open to residents of Nova Scotia, with a focus on attracting individuals from equity-deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers, and Women.
Individuals must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.
There are also supports for veterans, reservists, senior cadets and family members.
