Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council and Construction Industry Supports (CIS) Program’s Introduction to Sheet Metal. The 13-week, 12-person program, starting on May 11th 2026 and ending on August 7th 2026, is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Nova Scotia.

What the Program Includes

  • Introduction to the Sheet Metal trade

  • Industry-related training (WHMIS Fall Protection Etc).

  • Trades Math and Job Readiness Workshops

  • In class theory and hands-on training in fabrication and installation of sheet metal products.

  • 2 weeks of monitored work placement with a local employer.

Who Can Apply

  • Open to residents of Nova Scotia, with a focus on attracting individuals from equity-deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers, and Women.

  • Individuals must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.

  • There are also supports for veterans, reservists, senior cadets and family members.
