NSCSC Introduction to Bricklaying Program
Join the Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council’s Introduction to Bricklaying Program. The 10-week 12-person program, starting on September 16th and ending on November 22nd, is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents living in Nova Scotia.
What the Program Includes
An intro to the Bricklaying Trade.
Industry relevant safety training (WHMIS, OHS, First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift).
In-class theory and hands-on training activities.
Trades math, effective communication, & job-readiness training.
2 weeks of monitored work placement with a local employer.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and a resident of Nova Scotia.
Open to residents of Nova Scotia with a focus on attracting individuals from equity deserving groups including Indigenous Peoples, African Nova Scotians, Racially Visible Individuals, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers and Women.
Applicants to this program may also qualify for financial support. Please discuss at the time of application.
Through this program, participants may be connected with relevant organizations including the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 1 Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency, and local employers.
