Housing Construction Fundamentals

Housing Construction Fundamentals Program offered at NSCC Annapolis Valley Campus, starting Monday, September 11th, 2023. The Canadian Colleges for Resilient Recovery (C2R2) has fully funded the program; thus, there is no tuition for student enrollment. Indigenous Peoples, African NS/Black peoples, and women are priority groups when assessing applications.

The program is eight weeks long with an additional 2-week work placement. The program provides you with the introductory skills and knowledge needed to secure entry-level employment as a worker in housing construction. Hands-on, practical courses teach you to use various tools and equipment in residential construction environments safely. A strong focus on safety and understanding site operations ensures you’re ready to contribute to the construction sector upon hire.

Additionally, student support funds are available to support student success, including urgent aid, disability support funds, and monthly stipends.
