JOB OPPORTUNITY: Shift Change Project Coordinator

YWCA Halifax Shift Change is hiring a Shift Change Project Coordinator. The coordinator’s main role will be to oversee Shift Change’s projects, including creating reports, conducting administrative work, communicating with stakeholders, and more.

Duties

  • Community Equity Development

  • Project activity and data tracking, analytics development, and report development and writing

  • Evaluations for learning and impact

  • Communication: Execute regular, professional communications internally and externally, such as communicating with stakeholders to build insight, community support to solicit input on how to improve project work, and work with consultants and evaluators to develop and deliver presentations and materials to community and network partners

  • Event & Meetings Coordination & Logistics: Support event/meeting work by managing logistics, practicing inclusion, and supporting good participant experience

  • Work collaboratively and closely with the Shift Change Program Lead on the development of the Shift Change projects vision, goals, and objectives

  • Lead and support the engagement of community members in supporting outcome of YWCA’s programs, events and activities

  • Responsible for developing project tracking analytics to synthesize results of multiple projects goals, activities and outcomes/outputs

  • Working with Shift Change Project Lead to ensure high quality of programming and implement ongoing evaluation (meeting both funder and overall organizational needs) to assess the strengths of the programming and identify areas for improvement

  • Participates in writing grant proposals and research tasks

  • Mobilizes community partners for prospective projects/programs

  • Communicates with stakeholders to gain community support for the project, nurturing meaningful community partnerships

  • Participate in media and public speaking events, representing the YWCA

  • Ensures that project activities operate within the policies and procedures of the YWCA

  • MS Office 365: Use technology to track and organize project documentation including electronic files, project data, reporting and expense tracking

  • Initiate and manage workflow both with the team and independently

  • Advance the mission and vision of YWCA Halifax and the Shift Change Project

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience. A background in intersectional feminisms or queer theories of practice would be an asset.

  • Understanding and experience in program evaluation in an outcomes-based framework through a feminist lens

  • Strong networking and outreach skills with community not-for-profit groups, women’s organizations, employers and trades experts

  • Self-directed and work well independently as well as within a close team

  • Strong organization, administrative, and analytic skills, with a high level of computer literacy

  • Knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion challenges, particularly the systemic structures limiting the participation and advancement of gender diverse folks and women in skilled trades and their support networks and allies. You care about advancing women in skilled trades and are open to the learning that comes with equity and social justice work

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and written, with experience in research, report writing, and analytics

  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in an environment that is not always predictable.

  • Ability to collect and analyze data

  • Skills in event planning, both virtual and in-person

  • Experience executing projects

  • Excellent time management, planning, and follow through

  • You are passionate about respectful community development and have experience and understanding working with community and equity seeking groups

  • Must have completed First Aid/CPR and WHMIS training

  • Subject to a Criminal Background Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Abuse Registry Check.
