Women Unlimited, the free, unique program offered at NSCC campuses in Sydney, Halifax, and Dartmouth starts every January and now runs for 16 weeks.
Program participants explore a wide range of trades and technology careers through NSCC shop visits and hands-on learning opportunities, industry site tours, and meeting women and allies in trades and tech.
Participants receive safety training, along with their personal protection equipment (PPE) needed to safely participate in shop activities, and they are guided through both their career exploration and personal development journey by the Women Unlimited Program Coordinator and the Program Navigator at each site.
Successful completion of the Women Unlimited program includes a guaranteed seat in a trades and technology program of choice at NSCC, provided it is a career in which women are underrepresented, and the participant meets the training program requirements before the start of the course.
In addition to training at NSCC, they provide information and opportunities to explore direct-entry employment, and other training programs and institutions.
All of this is designed to empower women and folks who identify as women to make informed career decisions and take the next step in their career success.
